Fostering

Fostering gives cats a second chance at a safe, happy and healthy life.

Foster parents provide an invaluable service by saving a cat from living on the street or from being put to sleep.

Many animal rescue organizations do not have shelters and rely on the fostering system to save cats. This often means that cats can not be removed from shelters that threaten to euthanize them because there is no where to bring them.

Some reasons to foster:

  • People can make a difference in a cat’s life without making a long-term commitment;
  • Pet owners can give an orphaned kitten or cat the same chance for a lifelong home that their pet was fortunate enough to receive;
  • Parents and children can have family experiences together while caring for animals and developing an understanding of the pet overpopulation and its consequences;
  • Fostering is a great way to find out if your cat is compatible with other cats;
  • A litter of kitten would bring so much energy and entertainment into your life;
  • Fostering provides with incentive to keep your house tidy in case your foster cat’s forever family wants to meet her tonight;

Fostering makes a difference, and you get much more than you give. For those people who say it hurts too much to foster, it hurts more not to foster. What if there had been no foster home available for the cat who loves you now? Where would they be?
